Animals live all over the world in many completely different environments, these can be hot or cold, wet or dry. For animals to do this they need to be adapted in order to survive in particular conditions. If they are able to do this then it means that their anatomy and physiology must be adapted completely to their environment. It is essential that we are able to understand how these animals are adapted to their environment so that we can then provide them with correct care and the correct environment, for example when they are captive we can give them the right space, temperatures and food in their zoos so that they can have the best quality of life possible and help to species to thrive.
There are many adaptations which animals may need to survive, this could be how an animal is structured to help them adapt to their environment, their adaptations could be in their body systems, this could be the pentadactyl limb and how it has evolved or it could be respiratory adaptations which animals have for adapting to live in different altitudes including blood pressure and lung capacity.
